Cocktails & Shoes

To celebrate my best friend's birthday, I made her cookies inspired by these napkins:

I was in a hurry to make these cookies so I didn't have a chance to add shoe details,
but they still turned out cute.

Grammy's Birthday Teacups

My Grammy has the most beautiful china collection so to celebrate her 77th birthday
I made her teacup, teapot, and saucer cookies.  I ended up using up icing from another
project so they don't quite match her china, but she loved them anyway!

Saint Patrick's Day Cookies

I finished these cookies last night, just in time for St. Patrick's Day! I tried out a new royal icing recipe, and though it worked okay, I think I will stick my previous method.

Lingerie Valenties for Sherry

My friend Sherry approached me in January about doing these lingerie hearts for her.
They were so much fun to make and my Grammy got a laugh out of the them.

Several sets setting on my mom's counter.

Snowstorm 2011 Cookies

I made these snowmen and snowflake cookies during the February snowstorm.  My dad took these cookies to work and he said they didn't last long at all! During the snowstorm my computer died.  I promptly ordered one that was delayed due to the second snowstorm and when it FINALLY arrived, it was broken. Soooo, five weeks later and I finally have a computer again!

*these pictures were taken in my mom's poorly lit kitchen and are terrible, but I wanted to share a few pictures from my snowstorm activity.

Chiefs Party

In November, I made the cake and cookies for a surprise 50th birthday party.
The cake and cookies were made in Arkansas and transported back to Kansas.  The long drive created a few imperfections in the cake, but nothing too major.  The bottom, 14 inch square layer is white cake with blackberry filling and the carved arrowhead is chocolate cake with ganache filling.

A few cracks in the plaid due to the car ride.

My first carved cake!

No Birthday is complete without a couple of trays of cookies.

Birthday Cupcakes

I made myself a few birthday cupcakes this fall.  Some of them might have fallen into each other before I put them back in the pan, oh well, I was just trying out new decorating tips.
